And a cruise ship.

Behind me sits a pile of Polly Pockets.  Thirteen dolls, 44 pairs of shoes and 70 outfits, to be exact.  And a cruise ship.  I know the amounts because Madeline catalogued it all before we put it up for sale online.  (As great parents, we make her get rid of two toys every time she gets a new one.  We are beginning to see her room emerge once again due to this wonderful tactic.)  She had a lot of Pollys, and asked if she could sell them instead of giving them away, which we thought was a great idea.  (Surprisingly, there is a lack of buyers of children's toys in January...)

It makes me acknowledge that my little girl is growing up.  And makes me wonder what will catch her interest this year (oh, yeah: silly bands) or in 3 years...

What were my favorite toys growing up?  I might need to call my mom and get some help with this one.  Do you remember any of yours?  Leave a comment - I'd love to hear about them.  And I will head off to bed and lay there imagining little me, and trying to picture what it is I've got in my hands.

Back in the day, Barbies and Polly hadn't been invented. I remember a small pink and green (all pastels) teddy and a small much loved doll named Betty. Both regrettably gone now. The rest of the time I was outside rambling on the farm and playing with the cats. This to my Mom's chagrin - I wasn't interested in culinary skills at all.

Thanks, Jan!

I remember a teddy bear, Sparky (and my sister had Ginger...), barbies, and possibly my favorite, a Cabbage Patch doll named Suzanne Sonya.

I`ve always had a thing for pens and paper, too - when we played town, I was the sign-maker for everyone`s shops.
